Although real estate has seen a general slow down in 2018, price declines in Port Moody have been mild. Despite the impact of the Foreign Buyer Tax and stricter mortgage requirements reducing some home buyers' purchasing power, the hidden beauty of Port Moody and its surrounding area continues to attract new buyers. And there's no doubt that the new SkyTrain in Port Moody and Coquitlam continues to bring more buyers from Vancouver and the Northshore out to the Tri-Cities. Now that prices seem to have settled, we will wait and see what 2019 brings the real estate market!
As a Seller, the main thing to keep in mind is that pricing needs to reflect the current market - you can ask whatever price you want, but the Buyers will determine what your home is worth. So, all that to say, if you're serious about selling your home this year, and you're willing to list at a reasonable price...it will probably sell. Please call me if you're thinking of selling this year.
